Uniquely situated at the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi rivers at the place where Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana join lies this charming and peaceful property where sunrise and sunset can be seen from the same balcony. Our guests lodge at the only place in the world where four countries meet. Impalila Island forms the northeastern tip of Namibia and lies just 70kms west of the thundering Victoria Falls. The surrounding area is an amazing mosaic of waterways, floodplains and bushveld: host to exceptional birdlife, game viewing and assorted vegetation. Impalila is also the most secluded and remote of the Chobe destinations but close enough to offer guests the very best of the Chobe River – that is, game viewing by boat.
ACCOMMODATION Impalila Island Lodge is a 16-bedded luxury lodge with much to offer discerning clients.
GENERAL INFORMATION Our islands are an experience of sensory fulfillment. We offer excellent cuisine - "al fresco" style in a variety of romantic settings under the baobab canopy - or perhaps a picnic on a wild island. Our chefs can cater for any special dietary requirements - guests just need to inform reservations in advance. We offer a fully stocked bar and are proud of our comprehensive range of South African wines - rarely seen in such remote destinations! Our lodges romantically cater for special occasions such as
honeymoons, anniversaries and birthdays. Guests are surprised with moonlight dinners on a river sandbank, a private candlelit dinner for 2 on your own deck or a champagne brunch at the historical baobab. A choice of fishing in the Zambezi, Chobe, Kasai or Kwando rivers as well as the Mambova rapids, and backwaters of the floodplains makes Impalila Island fishing opportunities magnificent. Fly fishing or traditional angling from either motorized boat or mokoro for a variety of African species is possible. Our guides are professional and very knowledgeable on the area. We have fishing equipment at the lodges.
